Who We Are
The Face Behind MOTION by GREAT iD
Hi! I’m Irene de Groot, a passionate Motion Designer based in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, originally born in Indonesia. Yup, it’s just me, myself and Irene! With a deep commitment to helping brands stand out through tailor-made Motion Design and Animation, I transform complex ideas into eye-catching, scroll-stopping visuals.
My Journey
Before launching my creative career, I studied International Business and Languages, including a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain.
I built over 15 years of experience in B2B marketing at various IT organizations in the datacenter industry. As a marketeer, I always had a soft spot for design. I created everything from product brochures, case studies, and whitepapers to PR materials like print and digital ads, pop-up banners, and exhibition backwalls, all using Adobe software.
That’s when I first got introduced to video editing in Premiere Pro, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Motion Design
It didn’t take long before I discovered After Effects, and from that moment on, I was hooked. I dove into tutorials, signed up for a beginner course (and later an advanced one), and eventually completed my journey with a Storyboard for Animation course.
That’s when I officially made the shift into Motion Design.

Because you’re not just looking for another designer. You want someone who listens, thinks, creates, questions, refines, and delivers, ideally with a dash of dry humor and unexpected insight.
With a strong background in marketing and a pixel-perfect eye for detail that borders on obsessive, I bridge the gap between client and designer with ease. I was that client, I know the deadlines, the approvals, the “can you make the logo bigger” moments. I get it. And I’ve got you.
A Little More About Me
When I’m not behind my laptop, you’ll probably find me on a tennis court, or racing down a snowy slope on my snowboard. A few years ago, I bought myself a grand piano (I used to play a lot as a kid), and grown-up me still sneaks in some Tschaikowsky, Adele, Alicia Keys, John Legend, or the occasional Bohemian Rhapsody.
Also, I’m a massive sushi lover (chasing Nobu all over the world… iykyk), a certified Apple nerd, and yes, I secretly love visualizing complex data. Don’t judge.
My favorite color? It’s obvious.
Unless you’re color blind, in which case, I really hope you know the song by Aerosmith.
